This basic MX-8 desk model is great value for money and ideal for students, office use and household use. It has a clear 8-digit angled display & is extremely easy to use. The case is a very pale grey going on white, with darker grey buttons and a big red ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ button. It has two non-slip feet on the back which prevents it from moving about on a surface when being used.

Display style

The display shows the figures in black against a pale grey screen. The screen slopes upwards towards you which makes it very clear and easy to read. The MX-8 works on solar power and has a 1.5v battery (LR54 included) as a battery back-up as well as having automatic power-off.

Classic, simple design

The calculator performs the major basic functions including addition (extra-large key), subtraction, multiplication and division & percentage. The MU (Mark Up) key makes it very easy to calculate profit % margins. It also has a square root key and positive and negative number key. It also incorporates a 4-key memory function. The MX-8 is a very robust calculator so it can be used in all types of areas.

Small and portable

Due to its size, it will be easily visible on a desk yet also when being carried around with you. It is solid but not heavy, and like any Casio item it is stylish and reliable.
